In addition to its flagship project, the community radio station KBMF 102.5FM, the Butte America Foundation has entered into a partnership with the trustees of the Carpenters Union Hall. This historic structure is on the National Register of Historic Places, and these initial funds will help bring the upper reaches of the building back into use.

After three annual Days of Action, where BAmF volunteers cleaned pigeon waste and garbage out of the second and third floors of the building, the non-profit organization then turned their attention to infrastructure upgrades in the building. They were awarded a SARTA (Superfund Advisory and Redevelopment Trust Authority) grant for $19,000 to put a new roof on the Carpenters Hall, which stopped significant water leaks and marked the first major step towards renovation.

Now, the Butte America Foundation has agreed to split the cost of new electrical service on the second floor, using funds raised from the recent Rabble Rouser Rifle Raffle #2. This work will put a new panel on the second floor, as well as wiring in the ceiling of the second floor ballroom, and outlets in the second floor offices. Many thanks to Trademark Electric for their work on this important Butte building. This is one step in a long line of upgrades to come before the Carpenters Hall at 156 W Granite can be brought new life.
