In the next step towards the renovation of the historic Carpenters Union Hall at 156 W Granite in Uptown Butte, the Butte America Foundation and the Trustees of the Carpenters Hall have received a generous donation of materials from Probuild of Butte.

In June of 2016, volunteers from the Butte America Foundation and KBMF performed the 4th Annual Day of Action, which removed water damaged plaster from the ceiling of the second floor ballroom. With funding from membership donations and a SARTA grant, Trademark Electric installed new wiring in the ceiling and brought electrical service to the second floor for the first time in more than 30 years. Trademark also took more than $600 off their price as a charitable donation to the project.

Now that the new wiring is installed, volunteers will soon use Probuild's donation of 50 12'x4' sheets of drywall to put the ceiling back together and prepare the space for more cleaning and a new paint job. It is the intention of the Butte America Foundation and the Trustees of the Carpenters Union Hall to restore the space as closely as possible to its original appearance, using plaster where needed for curved coves in the ceiling, and reinstalling the original light fixtures.
