The Superfund Advisory and Redevelopment Trust Authority, formed through an allocation agreement with BP/ARCO, awarded grants in 2016 for community and economic development projects, as well as historic preservation. With the help of the Butte America Foundation, the Trustees of the Carpenters Union Hall were awarded nearly $20,000 for historic preservation work.

The money put a new roof on the Hall, which has stopped years of water damage to the upper two floors of the building. SARTA monies also paid for all new glass in the upper floors of the Hall, which was delivered late last week and will be installed in the coming months by BAmF volunteers under the guidance of the Carpenters Hall board of directors.

The original window frames will be rehabilitated and preserved, maintaining the original appearance and structure of the 46 windows in the upper floors.

SARTA also supported KBMF 102.5FM, a project of the Butte America Foundation, with funding in the amount of $15,000 for the ongoing work of KBMF staff and volunteers. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the members of the SARTA board, who make these important projects possible:
